Trust single jointed snaffle bit
This bit from Trust is a single jointed
snaffle bit with a Sweet Iron coating.
This develops surface rust through contact with (atmospheric) moisture,
which tastes sweet and naturally stimulates
salivation. As a result, the
horse accepts the bit better and is encouraged to chew.
This rust development (oxidation) changes the
blue colour of the TRUST bit to grey or brown.
If the Sweet Iron bit is temporarily
not used, a thin orange-brown layer of rust will form on
the mouthpiece.
This can be easily removed with a damp cloth.
