Sweet Iron is a material that emits a slightly sweet taste to the horse as soon as the mouthpiece comes into contact with saliva. For the double-jointed mouthpieces, we use copper inserts, which have a sweeter taste from the start.
Sweet iron mouthpieces can show signs of wear more quickly than stainless steel bits because sweet iron has a surface coating that is significantly softer than other types of metal.
